We acknowledge that we reside on the ancestral territory of the Coast Salish people, in particular the Samish Tribe, who's traditional territory stretches over a wide region of the Salish Sea. From the tops of the Cascade Mountains to the far western shores of the San Juan Islands.
We are living, learning, and playing in a places that has been their home since time immemorial. They are the original inhabitants of this land, which was taken by the Treaty of Point Elliot in 1855 without adequate compensation. The Samish people are fishers, artists, storytellers, musicians and harvesters of the natural abundance that this beautiful land and sea provide. We thank the Coast Salish people for allowing us to inhabit this place and call it our home.
